~Maddi's Sock Monkey Collection~

~FOR THE LOVE OF MONKEY~

~Ever since Maddi was 3 and going to junk stores, estate sales and the like with me, I wanted her to find something to collect....SOCK MONKEYS fit the bill!!!! We have had A LOT of fun hunting and searching for them and it gives her something to do while I am looking for that next cool treasure!!!!~

~We found this VINTAGE CHARCOAL Painting awhile back...It was so dirty I wasn't sure we could get it clean, but thank goodness for good old soap and Windex and a few coats of black paint for the frame and she turned out AWESOME!!!!~

~MY DADDY'S Paint set from when he was 4, back in 1943. It was quite something to get this with the war going on and my Oma and Opa trying to raise 12 kids on the farm.~

~I couldn't stand the fact of putting them away as Maddi's room is now filled with all kinds of stuffed animals and girly stuff so we put them on our 9 FOOT Limestone Stone City, Iowa fireplace mantel. They greet us everyday and make me smile every time I see them~

~TREASURES GALORE~

After 2 website crashes in 3 weeks, I am soooo happy to let you know that I have it all done and added 248 new treasures to the website. For now, "The Back Porch" has been taken off due to the fact that I needed the room to add all the goodies I could. Not to worry, it will be back sometime around fall.

~LOTS OF FUN STUFF~

~RE-DO of the SHOP~

I sold so many furniture pieces this past week that I had to re-do the shop....never an easy thing to do BUT SO MUCH FUN!!!! Like playing house for me!!!!

My website crashed again, I lost everything so I am in the middle of fixing that, man it never ends here, just when I think things are going good, something else happens.

Went to the dentist yesterday for my cleaning after $7400 worth of work done only to have the dentist tell me I need another crown and I have 2 cavities...Something is WRONG....how in 3 weeks from going to "Everything is done" to now having $980 worth of work needed...I'm going to lose my mind...any suggestions?

~YIPPY~SITE UP AND ALL NEW GOODIES~My MRI Results~

YIPPY, the website is fixed and I added all new goodies onto it. It's the best I could do with what I have...Yahoo is not a company to go with if you want a generic website and not as user friendly as they say it is.

BUT......I have a year contract with them and everyone likes THE BIG PICTURES instead of having to click on the little ones to enlarge the item, so THERE IS A SILVER LINING if you look!!!!

FINALLY got an MRI this morning for the pain I have had in my arm and hand for soooo long (what is it 8 months now) and they found a herniated disc C3 and C4....UGH, will wait to hear from my doc this week to see what they want to do about it...LET'S PRAY CORTISONE SHOTS will be the ticket.

I say no, because I look at the OOP (Out Of Pocket) cost and I will ROLL OVER the $21.00 on my next shopping trip, it really only takes $20 to $40 to begin rolling the savings at Wal-greens and CVS)

~FACES OF OUR US MILITARY~ Imagine how my heart sank when I opened this Christmas card from Chase and Kristi.

To see it, in color, in a picture, of someone you know, someone you love and hold so close to your heart. Knowing that these are the Faces of Our Country's Protectors, Our Defense, Our Military.

From Kristi and Chase, a beautiful and somber reminder of those women and men who serve our country. Both here on our HOME LAND and ABROAD.

~VALENTINE'S DAY EXCITEMENT~ STILL PULLING OUT STITCHES~ PRAYERS FOR A FRIEND~

~YUMMY VALENTINES~ ~THIS IS JUST A SMIDGEN' OF WHAT'S COMING~

I get so excited this time of year....with Christmas over, it's time to start getting ready for one of my favorite days, VALENTINE'S DAY. I think mostly because it has everything to do with my 2 favorite colors of PINK and RED!!!!
I'm working on the website filling it with tons of RED and PINK treasures. I will be sure to let you know when I am done. I have a funny story....I bought a whole bunch of 1900's Mechanical and Pop-Up Valentines a few years back and I tucked them away so good I couldn't find them. Well, I found them recently and tucked them away so good, I can't find them!!!! LOL...boy am I getting old. I will be busy tomorrow tearing apart the shop looking for them because they are going on the website.
PS...My second favorite thing about Valentine's Day....it's just that much closer to SPRING!!!! YIPPY SKIPPY!!!

CANCER STILL SUCKS

Now....a little bit more about cancer......Yes, can you believe, I am STILL PULLING out stitches from my double mastectomy and ex-plant surgery. It's SHOCKING to say the least and yet another side effect from cancer. I have a sweet friend who emailed me a few days before Christmas to tell me she has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. If you can find it in your heart to say a prayer for her, it would be so greatly appreciated. She doesn't want me to say who she is, so we will just call her H.
