On the sixth day God turned to the Archangel Gabriel and said: 'Today I am going to create a land called Iowa. It will be a land of outstanding natural beauty. It shall have tall majestic landscapes full of buffalo, tall grass, and hawks, beautiful skies, forests full of elk and deer, rich farmland and fair skinned people.God continued, 'I shall make the land rich in resources so as to make the inhabitants prosper, I shall call these inhabitants Hawkeyes, and they shall be known as a most friendly people.
But Lord,' asked Gabriel, 'don't you think you are being too generous to these Iowans?
'Not really,' replied God
'just wait and see the winters I am going to give them.'

Amy, sorry about your flu. I have been sick also and just tired of fighting the pain, so I haven't been posting every day. And it's even more depressing that no one is following my blog. The way I feel today, I just want to quick and curl up in my bed and sleep the winter through. I do hope you are feeling better. I am like you---too many meds and injections. Love and Hugs, Pat
Hi Amy! Sorry to hear that you have been sick. Hope you & your sweet family are all on the mend now & that you can soon have your surgery & get that behind you.
Funny about the Iowa winters!!

Hi Amy - they must have created Iowa the same day they created the Province of Manitoba, because our Winter, especially this year has been brutal. Lots of snow and temperatures with wind chill most days around 35 below 0 celsius. Angel Gabriel please tell God - enough already. Hugs - Sandi
Hello Amy, this is too let you know that you have been in my prayers..Along with Deena, Cora, Karen, and Joanna who was the first that I started praying for on the blogs @JoAnnA's Art Journal...Your name and theirs have been called out in church here in the heart of Texas...I did asked special prayers for you yesterday...at church....I did not know until this morning how sick you have been...You will do just fine in your surgery and it soon will be behind you...maybe God wanted you not to have all those extra drugs in your body before surgery...He is in control of answering our prayers...
Be safe in Jesus is my prayer..
from the heart of Texas...
a BIG HUG!
Judy
PS:your post of Blessed Iowa..gave me a smile...Oh, and thanks for sharing that vintage art....
Amy, stopping by to see if you are feeling better. We are going to have freezing temps in the teens this Thursday and Friday, so I don't envy you at all. Not sure if I could handle your weather for any long period. Hope you are feeling better soon. I didn't get my flu shot this year because last year it made me sick, so I am taking a huge gamble. Love and Hugs, Pat
Oh Amy,
I am finally able to read your posts and I am sooo sorry that you have been sooo sick and that you have to reschedule your surgery. Of course I'll be praying for you and the doctors, nurses and all the people who will be operating on you. I also think the implants are making your whole body sick. I have heard that that has happened to other gals.
Here's a BIG HUG from your
Frozen friend in MN
Deb
That is hillarious! My family is in Iowa......and I am down South. But we are cold here too. HA! Not as cold as you all though.
I hope you feel better soon.
I was reading about all your sickness and troubles with the implants. I had no ideal they suggested those after breast surgery.
That is horrible.
I'm so sorry you have had to go through all of this.
I wish you well with your surgery and hope you feel so much better once those implants are removed.
IF it ever warms back up in Iowa......I may just have to go visit my family but it is WAY toooo cold right now. I am a COLD weather weenie now. HA!
So I probably won't make it up till Spring.....I am seriously behind on my yearly visit to them. Blah!
Be blessed,
Joyce
