~OUT VOTED~

I am sad to say I have been "OUT VOTED" in the decor of Maddi and Alex's Room. No longer do they want the pretty girly vintage stuff. I am so sad as I love nothing better than to walk into that room and see those old treasures from the past. Bunk Beds are going up, their "taste" is moving in....I'm sad and not handling this change very well. Anyone else out there ever had this happen??? If so, I need you to write to me and give me some words of comfort.....I have no place to put all of these collections and well, I'm really sick about it.....The picture above is just one side of their room that I have decorated....it's all coming down....WAAAAA!!!! ~Amy~

Oooohhh Amy! How sad is that? Well I only have one daughter, and she is too young to mind how I decorate her room. I lost the battle with the boys' rooms from day #1! Can you save those darling pictures, etc in a box - because I just KNOW someday they will say, "Hey, I miss all those girlie treasures Mom used to put up in our room!" =)

I know how you feel. My girls both chose their own room decor when they got to a certain age. I think actually it's a compliment to you...you see, they see how much fun you have decorating and now they will try their hand at it. Imitation is the highest form of flattery!Be flattered my friend!

You can always sell some of their old decor (someone here will love it!) and help the girls purchase some new stuff for their makeover room.

Tell the girls we want to see pics when they're done!

Poor Amy,
Don't worry. My daughter is grown now and she went through fazes. I think the half naked men on the wall lasted the longest. She is married now and they are building a new house. She tells me that her office is going to be girly-girl pink and yellow. Now I just need a grand daughter and I'll be even happier!

It's a phase, and someday they will long for the old stuff. Save everything, and when they are 20 or so they will get tears in their eyes when they see all the stuff and want to know if they can have it someday for their kids' rooms.

Hi Amy:-) Thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving a comment...I love "meeting" new people!! Thank you for your compliments about my blog...I have so much fun with it and the friends I've made through blogging is amazing!! Oh dear, I fully understand how you're feeling about having to take down all those beautiful vintage items...I remember quite well when my boys reached a certain age and no longer liked the way I had decorated their room! Do you have another room where you could put that shelf up? Otherwise, just store everything, don't get rid of it!! One day they might want it up again:-) Please come visit me again!! xox

Your displays are adorable, but your daughters need to experiment to find their own style.
Store all the lovely treasures and keep them until you are a Grandma!

Oh No! Is this what I have in my future? My daughter is only 3 and I am definitely enforcing my style upon her now.
P.S. u did a great job, the room looks beautiful:)
